suspension-tambour-java-50-cm-e27
Java drum pendant light 50 cm E27

The Java pendant light features a woven bamboo drum lampshade 50 cm in diameter at the end of a 200 cm textile cable. It is the same drum used for the floor lamps in the same line, freed from its base and suspended from the ceiling by a canopy.

Light and ambiance

The weave is openwork and the drum is open at the bottom. When switched on, the pendant casts a direct light onto whatever is below and allows points of light to escape through its weave; when switched off, it becomes a piece of basketry once again. Viewed from below, the bulb is visible at the heart of the weave.

Materials and manufacturing

Bamboo is a fast-growing plant fiber. The lampshade is woven from thin strips over a frame, between two bamboo hoops held by bindings. The pendant combines bamboo and iron, and the E27 socket is placed in the center of the drum, below the cable.

Three finishes

The weave comes in the light natural tone of bamboo, in a dark-stained version, or in a two-tone weave where light and dark strips form chevrons, both on the outside and inside of the lampshade.

Style and decoration

Unadorned, the Java relies on its material and its basketwork design. It suits bohemian-style interiors, green plants, light-colored woods, and fabric sofas. Alone above a round table, or in pairs above a long table, each sold individually, it provides an anchor point for the room.

Where to hang it and which bulb to choose

Above a table, allow for 70 to 80 cm between the tabletop and the bottom of the lampshade: the light falls on the plates without obstructing your view. With its 50 cm diameter, it also finds its place above a lounge area or in an entryway. The cable is 200 cm long: its height is adjusted during installation and cannot be adjusted afterwards. The socket takes an E27 bulb, not included, with a maximum of 60 W, for indoor use.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0973/8000/8263/files/suspension-tambour-java-50-cm-e27-bambou-naturel.jpg?v=1790834988
