Les paniers Krabi sont construits en herbe de mer (seagrass) tressée à la main selon une technique de tressage plein à motif en relief : les cordes de seagrass sont spiralées rang par rang en base dense, puis des croisements de cordes supplémentaires sont intégrés en surélévation pour former les losanges en relief sur toute la surface. Ce procédé exige un haut niveau de régularité et de précision artisanale — chaque losange doit s'aligner avec les précédents pour que le motif reste cohérent sur toute la circonférence. La paroi pleine ainsi obtenue est rigide, solide, sans armature intérieure, et offre une excellente tenue structurelle même sous charge. Les anses rondes torsadées sont intégrées lors du tressage du rebord.
