Travertine is a sedimentary limestone formed by the millennial deposition of mineral-rich waters, the same stone that adorns grand ancient monuments and Tuscan villas. Each votive holder is hand-carved and polished from a block of travertine: its fossilized cavities, its pinkish-beige to warm ochre veins, and its slight surface irregularities are the signature of mineral authenticity. The simple, geometric double-flange profile is the only design intervention: everything else is the stone itself. No two pieces are identical.

The body is made of natural travertine, a sedimentary limestone with high mineral density, 0.36 kg per piece, handcrafted and polished. The surface is naturally pitted and porous: the hollows, veins and chromatic variations, from rosy beige to ochre and ivory, are inherent to the geological composition of each stone block, with no chemical surface treatment. The inside of the housing is polished for optimal hotplate support.

Natural travertine is a very durable stone that ages gracefully:

• Cleaning: wipe gently with a dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid any acidic products like vinegar or lemon juice
• Wax residue: allow to cool completely, then remove with a non-abrasive wooden or soft plastic spatula
• Natural porosity: avoid prolonged contact with water or oily products
• For indoor use only, natural stone is sensitive to frost
