Smoked brown blown glass vase with wavy ribs

What gives this vase its character:

Crafted using the ancestral technique of mouth-blowing, this vase bears the trace of the glassblower's hand. The asymmetrical pinched shapein its middle and the undulating vertical ribsare achieved by manual pressure on the molten glass, a technique impossible to reproduce identically by an industrial process. Each piece is thus slightly unique, subtly varying in proportion and tone.

Its silhouette defies conventions, neither cylinder, nor sphere, nor bottle, the vase appears compressed upon itself, as if suspended in a moment of transformation. The fluid vertical ribsamplify this effect of frozen movement and create an exceptional play of light and shadow. The translucent smoked brown hue harmonizes with all warm palettes—terracotta, ochre, caramel, taupe—as well as with the natural tones of wood and linen.
