The Soma rounds off everything it can: the edges of the tabletop, the curve of the apron, the rim of the border. The result is a straightforward table without any sharp corners, perfect for transitioning from a classic dining room to an open-plan kitchen. Place few items on it and let the wood grain flow. Its finish sets the tone, whether brighter or deeper.

• Arrange for help and a clear path on the day of delivery
• The wood surfaces are finished with a hard wax oil
• Daily care: use a dry cloth, and occasionally a slightly damp cloth over the entire surface
• Wipe up any spilled liquid immediately with a dry cloth, then go over the entire surface with a damp cloth; do not use corrosive products or bleach
• Use trivets under hot items and keep the table away from radiators or air conditioning vents
• Light scratches: the manufacturer recommends 220-grit sandpaper used in the direction of the grain—avoid steel wool—followed by a new coat of hard wax oil applied with a soft cotton cloth
• Solid wood reacts to both dry and humid air: aim for 50% relative humidity in the room, or between 40% and 60%
• Sunlight will alter the color of the wood over time
