Description
Hand-woven from rattan, the Lalo lampshade creates a half-dome shape on the wall that tapers towards the top. When lit, it casts a wide pattern of woven shadows on either side, adding depth to the room. Open at the back, it sits flush against the wall and extends only slightly into the room.

  • Projection from wall: 25 cm
  • Weight: 0.56 kg

Materials and Manufacturing +

What it's made of, reed by reed:

  • Material: natural, unstained rattan
  • Craftsmanship: hand-woven
  • Shape: half-dome tapering towards the top, open at the back
  • Frame: black iron, with two mounting rings at the top and a central ring for the socket
  • Handcrafted piece: each lampshade retains its own unique character
  • For indoor use only
Style and Decoration +

Unstained rattan and the regular pattern of the reeds bring natural warmth to both lime-washed and earthen-plastered walls. When lit, the Lalo casts a wide pattern of woven shadows on either side: in a hallway, near a door, or on both sides of a bed, it gives the room depth and a gentle sense of movement.

Installation and Maintenance +

What to plan for its installation and subsequent maintenance:

  • Lampshade sold separately: E27 socket, cable, and wiring to be provided
  • Connection: wall wire outlet required, or work to install one
  • Mounting: two black iron rings at the top of the frame
  • Installation height: 1.60 to 1.80 m from the floor
  • Front: dry cloth or brush, in place
  • Once a year: take it down to clean the back, between the shell and the wall
  • No water on the rattan
  • Indoor use only: outdoors, even under cover, humidity can damage it
