A stone and a plank, placed one atop the other like one pebble on another. The outline of the tabletop is not a perfect oval: it dips on one side and widens on the other, and it is this asymmetry that gives the table its movement. The overhang accentuates the effect, making the top appear to float above its base. The table invites low, solid objects, a large bowl, a stack of books, and pairs well with a low-pile rug that lets it breathe.

• Minor wood scratches: sand with 220-grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain, then reapply the hardwax oil with a soft cotton cloth
• Do not use steel wool to smooth a sanded surface
• Keep the room between 40% and 60% relative humidity and keep the table away from radiators and air conditioning vents
• Limit direct sun exposure: the wood color will change with light
