A cone and a roller, nothing more, yet the object is never symmetrical. The tabletop extends further on one side than the other, and the vertical strip of the tenon gives the base a direction, a front and a back. It is a calm piece that holds up well from any angle, making it useful as an end table, in the middle of a room, or as a bedside table. Place a lamp with a wide shade and a low object on it: the curve of the top does the rest.

Delivery is curbside, and wood maintenance requires just a few simple steps.

• Curbside delivery: the carrier does not enter the home, unpack, or assemble the table
• Routine maintenance: dry cloth, and a slightly damp cloth from time to time
• Wipe up any spilled liquid immediately with a dry cloth
• Minor scratches: sand with 220-grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain, then reapply the hardwax oil with a soft cotton cloth
• Do not use steel wool to smooth a sanded surface
• Maintain the room between 40% and 60% relative humidity and keep the table away from radiators and air conditioning vents
• Limit direct exposure to the sun: the wood color will change with light
