Frequently asked questions about mirrors

Where should I place a mirror to make a room look bigger?

A mirror facing a window reflects daylight and doubles the sense of space. In a narrow entryway or hallway, it visually opens up the passage. Avoid placing it opposite clutter: it reflects that as much as the light.

What size mirror should go above a piece of furniture?

Aim for a mirror about two thirds the width of the furniture, and leave 15 to 20 cm between the furniture and the bottom of the frame. Above a console table in the entryway, a large vertical mirror gives the wall more structure than a small one that looks lost.

How high should I hang a mirror?

Place the centre of the mirror at eye level, around 1.60 metres from the floor, depending on the height of the people in your home. Above a piece of furniture, work up from the furniture instead, leaving a small gap, as long as the reflection stays useful at eye level.

Which mirror shape should I choose?

A round mirror softens an angular room and works well above a piece of furniture. A vertical rectangular mirror adds height, a horizontal one widens a wall. A full-length floor mirror leaning against the wall dresses a corner and is handy for checking your outfit.

Designer Wall Mirrors

A mirror is much more than an accessory: it's a decorative element in its own right. A large round rattan mirror warms up a living room, a black metal mirror adds character to an entryway, and a gold mirror instantly elevates a room.

Mirrors for Entryways and Bedrooms

In the entryway, a mirror amplifies light and allows for a last look before heading out. In the bedroom, it can be placed full-length or above a dresser. Choose from round, vertical, or XXL formats depending on the space.

What size mirror should you choose?

To visually enlarge a room, go big: a mirror that covers a good portion of the wall creates a real sense of depth. Pair it with our vases and ceramics and find it in our entryway and bedroom selections.
