Back to the startFrequently asked questions about ceiling lights
When should I choose a ceiling light rather than a pendant light?
A ceiling light, fitted close to the ceiling, suits rooms with low ceilings and through spaces such as hallways, the entryway or a bedroom. A pendant light, which hangs down, is best kept for places no one walks under, above a table for example.
Is a single ceiling light enough to light a room?
It provides general lighting, but light that is uniform throughout looks flat. Complement it with a table lamp or a floor lamp for atmosphere, and with task lighting where you read or work. This layering makes the room feel warmer.
What size ceiling light for my room?
For a small room or a hallway, a compact ceiling light of 30 to 40 cm is enough. In a spacious living room or bedroom, go up to 50 cm or more so the light suits the scale of the room and gives off enough light.
Is a ceiling light suitable for a bathroom?
Yes, as long as you check its IP rating. Near water, choose a model designed for humidity, with a rating suited to the installation zone. This rating is stated on the product page when the light is designed for these rooms.

Designer ceiling lights
Ceiling lights provide the main light source in a room without taking up space. Round shapes, glass domes, fine metal frames: a uniform and discreet light, ideal for rooms with low ceilings where a pendant light would be cumbersome.
Where to install a ceiling light?
In an entrance, a hallway or an attic bedroom, the ceiling light provides general lighting without hanging down too low. For more scenic lighting above a table, opt for a pendant light, and find everything in the lighting section.
