What size tablecloth for a rectangular table?

Allow a drop of 25 to 30 cm on each side: add 50 to 60 cm to the length and the width of the table. For a 140 cm table, a 150 x 200 cm tablecloth is suitable. For a table of 180 to 200 cm, choose the 150 x 250 cm.

Which centrepiece to choose for Christmas?

A good centrepiece stays low, so that it does not cut across the conversation: a row of tealight holders, a fluted vase with a few branches of fir or eucalyptus, a blown glass bowl filled with fruit or pine cones. On a long table, repeat two or three small pieces instead of a single large one.

Which colour to choose for a Christmas table?

A neutral base leaves the choice open: a light linen tablecloth goes with red as well as green or gold. Then add a single accent colour, through the napkins, the greenery or the candles, and one metal, brass for example. Smoked glass and wood warm up the whole table without overloading it.

Can a festive table be lit with a cordless lamp?

Yes. A cordless lamp sits in the middle of the table with no extension lead or socket nearby, and recharges between two meals. Our lowest models measure 18 to 28 cm: they do not hide the guests. Combine them with candles to vary the heights of light.

A Christmas table starts with the light. A pierced brass tealight holder, a row of three or four smoked glass holders, a pair of arch candle holders: placed along the table, they light up faces without blocking the view. The tablecloth and the centrepiece

A washed linen tablecloth sets the tone even before the plates: plain, in 150 x 200 or 150 x 250 cm, or edged with black stripes. Serving and drinks
