Back to the startQuestions fréquentes sur les kitchen utensils

A kitchen is judged as much by what you keep in it as by what you take out of it. Our utensils are chosen to stay out: a crackled stoneware baking dish on the countertop, a teak utensil holder near the hob, a cutting board that doubles as a serving board.
Baking dishes and casseroles
The baking dish is the most versatile piece in a kitchen: it bakes, it gratins, and it goes straight to the table without transferring. Our crackled stoneware models come in several sizes, from individual handled dishes to large 35 cm formats, as well as in blackened terracotta. Casseroles and tagines extend the same logic of slow cooking served in their container.
Storing without hiding
Utensil pots, storage jars, measuring spoons, spatulas, honey dippers: these are objects that are used several times a day, and lose all interest at the back of a drawer. Teak and stoneware give them a presence that justifies leaving them out. Cleaning and dish brushes made of natural fiber follow the same idea, near the sink.
Stoneware, terracotta and teak: what goes in the oven and what doesn't
Stoneware and terracotta are made for cooking, and our baking dishes are designed for this use. Solid teak does not go in the oven or the dishwasher: no passage is documented by the manufacturer, it is cleaned with a barely damp cloth and oiled twice a year. Do not place a dish fresh out of the oven on a teak item, the thermal shock will mark the wood. For table service, find our serving dishes and our tableware.
Can a baking dish be used as a serving dish?
That is its main purpose. A stoneware dish coming out of the oven is placed on a trivet and served directly, which avoids an extra container to wash and keeps the dish hot longer. Just make sure you have a heat-resistant trivet, and never a bare wooden surface.
