A woven, lightweight, and openwork plant fiber:

• Material: water hyacinth, harvested, dried, and hand-braided
• Weave: openwork, horizontal braided strips, and flat vertical uprights
• Hanging mechanism: braided water hyacinth loop, at the center of the back edge
• Shape: rectangular, front edge curved downward
• Color: natural, ranging from pale beige to golden brown depending on the strands

Hung in pairs or at staggered heights, Cala baskets transform a section of wall into a textured, botanical display. Their caramel tones harmonize with light wood, linen, and fringed throws, and provide a lovely counterpoint to black furniture, whether in a kitchen or a bohemian-style entryway.

Where to hang them, and how to care for them:

• Entryway: magazines, throw blanket
• Bathroom: rolled towels
• Kitchen: small everyday accessories
• Fastening: by the braided loop, to be hung on a hook or nail
• Care: dry cloth or soft brush
• To avoid: prolonged humidity, direct water splashes, and full sun
