French Kiss cushion cover in ecru and black cotton 50x50 cm

Key measurements and what to expect:

• Size: 50 x 50 cm
• Weight: 350 g
• Cover only, filling not included
• Recommended filling: 50 x 50 cm, ecru or white
• Package: 50 x 50 x 2 cm

What makes its fabric and embroidery:

• Material: hand-woven unbleached cotton canvas with an irregular weave
• Embroidery: crosses in thick black thread, hand-stitched with a double stitch
• Pattern: two central rows of about ten crosses, and at the top and bottom a dotted line punctuated by two crosses
• Border: unbleached fringe on all four sides
• Closure: zipper

The repetition of the same small sign gives this cover an almost typographic character, somewhere between a pattern and writing. It brings rhythm where a solid color would bring mass, and it pairs just as well with light-colored sofas as with built-in benches, jute, rattan, and plain ecru or black cushions. It works just as well in a living room as it does in a child's bedroom.

Where to place it, and how to keep it intact:

• Uses: sofa, bed, child's room, or reading nook
• Cold water only: in hot water, the thick thread of the cross-stitching shrinks and puckers the fabric
• The embossing caused by hot washing cannot be ironed out
• Dry flat
• Indoor use
