What gives this weave its substance and structure:

• Fringes: warp threads knotted in pairs on the short sides
• Appearance: tones and pattern vary slightly from one piece to another
• Color: natural

An openwork weave and knotted fringe: this seagrass rectangle provides a warm texture beneath a cup, glass, or teapot. It pairs well with glazed stoneware, blown glass, and linen, for a serene table with natural tones.

To use correctly and keep the weave intact:

• Usage: under a cup, mug, glass, teapot or carafe, indoors
• Never use with a container fresh from the oven
• Vacuum gently, or shake to remove crumbs
• Do not wash with water; dry completely if it becomes damp
• Check the fringe knots and retie immediately if they come undone
