Oak wood and its crisp edges give this spotlight more the air of a piece of woodwork than a lighting fixture: it is a wooden object that you place on the wall, and the light follows. It is just as at home in a bright, Scandinavian-inspired bedroom as it is on a dark wall, where the wood stands out more, and it lends itself well to being repeated in a row along a hallway or above a bookcase. The metal joint provides the only cold note to the whole.

Step-by-step installation:

• Switch off the power at the main breaker before starting
• Two wall plugs and two screws for the mounting bracket
• Connect to the N and L terminals with the grounding wire
• The base plate is then secured to the bracket with two side screws
• Dry rooms only
