The Middelfart has the silhouette of an open-plan kitchen stool, the kind where the countertop also serves as a table: smart enough for dining, yet understated enough not to overcrowd a living space. The contrast between the seat's textile and the dark base is what gives it structure, and it works equally well against a light or very dark surface. Two stools are sufficient for a standard island, three for a long bar.

Tighten the screws after a few weeks of use
Maintenance: gentle brushing or low-power vacuum cleaner
A stain can be dabbed with lukewarm water, without rubbing and without detergent
Do not lean back on the backrest: the central leg is not designed for this
