What makes it sturdy, year after year:

• Materials: MDF and pine
• Front: vertical fluted slats that follow the rounded corners
• Doors: sliding, they disappear into the sides
• Handles: two round knobs, in the same tone as the furniture
• Top and base: rounded corners
• Legs: tapered, adjustable to compensate for uneven floors
• Appearance: pronounced grain

Vertical slats, rounded corners, round knobs: the Nikko has the softness of mid-century inspired furniture, without any bulk. In an entryway, it holds a lamp and a catch-all tray; in a living room, a vase of dried flowers and a few candle holders. It pairs well with bouclé seating, woven baskets, and organic-shaped mirrors, and complements the console and bedside table from the same line. Its finish determines the mood: warm and bright, or graphic and deep.

• Dust the fluting in the direction of the slats
