What the tray is made of:

• Material: natural travertine

• Matte surface, pitted with the small cavities characteristic of the stone
• Raised rounded rim all around the edge
• Natural stone: veining and cavities vary from one tray to another

Travertine brings a mineral warmth that few materials can provide: beige, matte, and pitted with small cavities, it softens a highly graphic interior and feels like an obvious choice in a natural setting. Its round shape and solid edge make it a sculptural piece, beautiful even when empty on a sideboard. It pairs well with light woods, matte ceramics, smoked glass, and other travertine pieces, with which it forms a coherent family of materials.

The uses it lends itself to:

• On a sideboard or console table: to gather keys, glasses, and mail
• On a coffee table: to hold a candle and a few small items
• On a set table: to place a carafe or candle in the center
• Displayed alone, its rounded edge is enough to make it a statement piece
