What gives this vase its character:

• Material: hand-thrown and glazed ceramic
• Glaze: glossy and finely crackled, tobacco brown with khaki and black highlights, on the upper two-thirds
• Base: raw, granular, and matte earth, in a nuanced ochre, marked with throwing lines
• Irregular glaze border, unique to each piece
• Shape: tapered cone, round and narrow opening

Its slender silhouette is best displayed in a group: place both heights side-by-side on a windowsill, a sideboard, or a shelf for a graphic composition. On its own, the tall vase stands out on a console table or the base of a bookcase. Its tobacco brown and ochre palette pairs beautifully with dark wood, natural linen, concrete, and brushed brass.

A few ideas for styling it:

• A single, sculptural branch, or a few stalks of dried wheat
• Alone on a console table, sideboard, or shelf
• Paired with the other height on a windowsill
• Each piece features its own unique variations in color and glaze drips
