A wooden tumbler absorbs light instead of reflecting it, adding a warm touch amidst the ceramic. Lined up together on an open shelf, it stands out as an object in its own right. The large one holds breadsticks in the center of an appetizer board; the small one slides onto a tray without obscuring its surroundings.

What it can hold, and how to keep the wood beautiful:

• Food contact: dry foods only, breadsticks, pretzels, or dried fruits
• Off the table: brush holder for a vanity or cotton swab organizer
• Not dishwasher, microwave, or oven safe
• Rinse under running water and wipe dry immediately, never soak
• Dry with the opening facing up, away from a heat source
• Apply a food-safe wood oil two to three times a year
