Sumba bust with ears in grey sandstone 9 cm

Key measurements to find its place:

• Height: 9 cm
• Width: 6 cm
• Depth: 7 cm
• Weight: 0.4 kg
• Placement: directly on its flat base, without a stand

What makes up its material and appearance:

• Material: dark gray stoneware, rough and porous, hand-carved
• Face: almond-shaped eyes, straight raised nose, line mouth
• Ears: two small ears pricked at the corners of the skull
• Silhouette: overhanging head on a short body, flat base
• Manufacturing: the color, texture, and eye design vary from piece to piece

The ears slide the reading toward the animal without it being possible to name the animal, and it is this indecision that makes the piece intriguing. Placed among strictly human figures from the same series, it creates a welcome rupture. Its dark stoneware stands out against a dark wood as if against a light wall.

Where to place it and how to care for it:

• Uses: bookshelf, desk, bedside table, alone or in a group
• Dusting: soft brush or soft cloth
• Do not apply pressure to the ears or the most delicate parts
• No water or chemical products
• Indoor use
