Amos does not seek the straight line: the long sides of the tabletop curve ever so slightly, the corners taper into curves, and the two conical bases resemble sculpture pedestals. Seen from a distance, the table appears to be placed effortlessly; seen up close, the beveled underside makes it feel even lighter. At this length, it becomes the room's center of gravity and deserves to have space around it rather than a sideboard placed too close. A linear pendant light centered above, a few low candlesticks, and nothing else: the grain of the tabletop does the rest.
