Teak shallow bowl with raffia trim

Measurements for each size, and what the package contains:

• Diameter: 20 cm or 30 cm, depending on the size chosen
• Height: 6 cm
• Capacity: 620 ml for the 20 cm bowl
• Weight: 1.5 kg for the 20 cm bowl, 2.6 kg for the 30 cm one
• Package for the 20 cm bowl: 23 x 23 x 18 cm

What it is made of, and what makes it unique:

• Base: solid teak carved from a single piece
• Border: raffia whipstitched through a row of hand-drilled holes, tightened into a uniform coil
• Natural knots and fissures left visible
• One-of-a-kind piece: the teak's shade and the pattern of the knots vary from one cut to another

The raffia stitching signals hand-craftsmanship, where a bare wooden cut might pass for a mass-produced item. Placed on a polished concrete surface, a teak sideboard, or a light wood table, it warms up the room. The two sizes stack inside one another and complement each other, one for nuts, the other for fruit.

What to use it for, and how to care for it:

• Dry foods only: whole fruits, nuts, chips, or bread
• Decorative use: keys, mail, jewelry
• No liquids or fatty foods: raffia stains and cannot be restored
• Never get the rim wet, never submerge
• Dust with a dry brush, following the coil of raffia
• Barely damp cloth on the teak base only
• Oil for the wood when it turns white, avoiding the raffia
• No dishwasher, no microwave, no oven
