Earth Crater vase in grey smoked glass 24 cm

Measurements of the vase and its package:

• Diameter: 26.5 cm
• Height: 24 cm
• Weight: 1.5 kg
• Package: 27.3 x 27.3 x 25 cm

What the glass reveals, up close:

• Material: smoked glass
• Translucent grey tint that lets daylight through
• Cratered relief across the entire outer surface
• Smooth and even opening rim
• Soft irregularities and fine air bubbles in the material
• Silhouette wider than it is tall, with a wide opening

The hollows in the surface catch the light differently depending on their orientation: the vase seems to change its pattern as you walk around it, and the relief is revealed much more in the evening under focused lighting than during the day in diffuse light. Smoked grey remains a subtle color, which fits into a contemporary interior without dominating it, and which goes well with stone, linen, and oak wood. On a coffee table, it is enough to provide an anchor point.

What it accepts, and what shows it to its best advantage:

• Fills with water for a short or trailing bouquet
• The wide opening allows the stems to spread out naturally
• Also holds its own when empty, as a sculptural piece
• Looks best near a lamp or spotlight
• Complements stone, linen, and oak wood
