White Washed Teak Square Coaster 10cm

Key measurements to find its place on the table:

• Format: 10 x 10 cm square, rounded corners
• Thickness: 0.8 cm
• Weight: 50 g
• Packaging: sold individually

What gives this square its lightened grain:

• Material: teak
• Finish: cerused, a white paste pushed into the open pores with a spatula, then wiped off the ridges
• Appearance: clean white lines in parallel bands on a caramel teak background
• Contrast softer than paint: the wood remains visible between the lines
• Grain and tone vary from one piece to another

A light object on a dark table catches the eye and structures the scene. This square with its lightened grain finds its place on a dark oak, walnut, or black metal tabletop, and complements the ceramics, glassware, and linen of a table set with restraint. Its raw and tranquil appearance suits wabi-sabi inspired interiors.

What you need to know to use it and keep it clear for a long time:

• Indoor use, under a glass, a cup, or a cocktail
• Hot cup: place a saucer in between, as steam will yellow the white paste in patches
• A yellow stain on the white lead is permanent; the surrounding wood remains intact
• Cleaning: use a dry cloth on the edges, never scrape
