A handmade ceramic, the glaze of which varies with each piece:

• Material: handmade glazed ceramic
• Shape: tokkuri, tall body with rounded shoulders, short neck, flared rim pinched into a spout
• Cream and honey ceramic: ivory glaze, tinted with honey on the rim and shoulder
• Brown ceramic: deep, glossy brown glaze on the shoulder, fading to matte black towards the foot
• Relief: oval indentation on the side, fine horizontal grooves at the base of the body
• Foot: unglazed ring
• Unique piece: the glaze varies from one carafe to the next

Its flared rim gives it the silhouette of a small chimney, very vertical, which catches the eye on a coffee table or an appetizer tray. Together with a few cups and an enameled dish, it forms a complete sake set. Alone on a shelf, it reads like a small vase.

To serve and keep it for a long time:

• Uses: sake, wine, flavored water, syrup or flavored oil
• Serving: narrow neck and pinched spout, for a controlled flow
• Washing: by hand, recommended
• Drying: shake it upside down, then leave it inverted for an entire night, the narrow neck retains moisture
• Thermal shock: no boiling liquid in a cold carafe
