Natural seagrass and raffia round placemat 45 cm

Measurements to note before setting the table:

• Total diameter: 45 cm
• Thickness: 1 cm
• Central braided disc: about thirty centimeters, the fringe takes up the rest
• Weight: 0.2 kg
• Sold individually
• Package: 45 x 45 x 1 cm

What the set includes:

• Materials: sea grass and raffia
• Disk: sea grass strands braided and then coiled spirally from the center to the edge
• Assembly held by a transparent thread visible on the surface
• Edge: raffia strands knotted all around and left loose
• Hand-braided from raw fibers
• Natural color, grain and shade vary slightly from one piece to another

The placemat brings something to the table that a plain tablecloth does not: a circle of organic material that frames the plate instead of resting it on a flat surface. Its natural hue complements raw wood just as well as stone, dark ceramic, smoked glass, and linen. On a large table, four round placemats are enough to set a rhythm for the surface without a table runner, and the fringe softens decor with clean lines.

How to use and keep it clean:

• Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth
• Clean dry, do not soak
• Place the plate in the center, on the woven disc
• Also serves as a decorative base under a vase or bowl
• Space the placemats so that the adjacent fringes do not touch
