Natural brown rattan Colonial lidded basket with handles

Key measurements to know what it can hold:

• Diameter: 40 cm
• Height: 39 cm
• Weight: 1.56 kg
• Package: 42 x 42 x 41 cm

What gives it its structure and character:

• Material: hand-woven rattan, in a tight spiral
• Lid: domed, with a woven knob for lifting
• Handles: two rattan hoops wrapped in fine strips
• Color: natural brown with honey highlights
• Appearance: shade and weave vary slightly from one piece to another

Its curves and button-tufted lid give the Colonial a warm, colonial look without being rustic. It is right at home at the foot of a bench or sofa, next to a raw wood stool, with raffia cushions and a light-colored wall finish. Left in plain sight in an entryway, it provides storage without ever looking like a storage piece.

What it stores, and how to keep it looking good:

• Uses: throws, cushions, household linens, toys, or firewood
• Transport: with two hands, one handle in each, never suspended by just one
• Check the handle braiding once a year; it is the part that undergoes the most stress
• Dusting: soft cloth or soft brush
• Indoor use only
