What it is made of, from tabletop to legs:

• Tabletop: MDF, 2.5 cm thick, rounded corners, no storage unit or drawer
• Legs: solid rubberwood, natural finish with white lacquer, black with black lacquer
• Crossbars: wood, one on each side between the two legs
• Support braces: steel, between the legs and the tabletop
• Protective pads under all four legs

With its compass-style splayed legs, clean tabletop, and no drawers, the Vojens features the graphic lines of 1950s Scandinavian furniture. It pairs just as well with velvet chairs as it does with rolling office chairs, slim wall shelves, woven baskets, and a large potted plant. Whether against wood-paneled walls or in front of a window, it remains a light presence in the room.

What you need to know for assembly and maintenance:

• Delivered as a kit, including hardware, a hex key, and floor protectors; have a Phillips screwdriver ready
• Two-person assembly recommended: the tabletop is placed upside down, on a blanket, to attach the legs
• The legs are bolted to the tabletop, then the crossbars and struts are screwed in
• Stick the floor protectors under the legs before turning the desk over
• Retighten the bolts after a few weeks, then once a year
• Maintenance: soft, slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products
