Matte black stoneware oil cruet with cork stopper

Measurements to note before making room for it:

• Total width: 18 cm, including spout and handle
• Depth: 11.5 cm
• Cork stopper included
• Sold individually

What makes up the piece, from spout to base:

• Material: stoneware, stated as resistant by the manufacturer
• Finish: deep matte black over the entire piece
• Base: thin band of brown clay left visible under the bottom
• Spout: long, straight tube, starting low on the body
• Handle: high arch attached to the neck
• Stopper: cork
• Manufacturing: handmade, the shade and texture vary from one piece to another

Such a long spout gives this cruet the silhouette of an indoor watering can, strikingly graphic, which contrasts with the roundness of typical models. Placed on a light-colored countertop or an open shelf, it stands out like a silhouette and is noticeable from afar. Its matte stoneware harmonizes with raw wood, stone, and plain tableware, and it is beautiful enough to be left out permanently.

What it is for and what the manufacturer recommends:

• Olive oil, for cooking and at the table
• Long spout that keeps the hand away from the pan
• Cork stopper to be replaced between uses
• Hand wash, as requested by the manufacturer
• Handle with care, like any handmade piece
