A matte terracotta that retains the marks of the wheel:

• Material: matte black terracotta, slightly grainy
• Surface: fine horizontal ridges, wheel marks
• Shape: jar with a round body, short neck and thick rim
• Porous material: never pour water directly inside

An ancient jar scaled down to an object, its matte black finish echoing the wood, linen, and light stone. The small size sits on a desk or shelf, the large one stands alone on a coffee table; together, they work even better.

How to fill it, and keep it clean:

• Dried flowers: directly into the jar
• Fresh flowers: in a small glass or watertight pot slipped through the neck
• Other use: holder for wooden utensils on a table
• Dust: large, dry brush, following the direction of the grain
• Nothing wet: the matte finish darkens in patches
• Dishwasher: no
• Indoor use
